The CP232 143-232-000-222 is an eddy current sensor probe. The coil inside the probe is supplied with high-frequency AC power by a preamplifier, generating a high-frequency electromagnetic field. When this magnetic field approaches a conductive metal surface, it induces eddy currents in the metal. These eddy currents, in turn, generate an opposing magnetic field that acts on the probe coil, causing the coil's impedance to change. This impedance change is inversely proportional to the distance between the probe tip and the metal surface. The closer the distance, the greater the impedance change.
