To meet the increasingly stringent safety and compliance requirements in critical infrastructure sectors such as oil, gas, and power, the latest VSV301 monitoring module and VSB300 terminal base combination solution of the VibroSmart® Distributed Monitoring System (DMS) has introduced a unique "module locking" security feature, setting a new safety benchmark for the condition monitoring of rotating machinery. This solution aims to minimize the risk of operational errors to the monitoring system and ensure the long-term safe operation of equipment.
Module Lockout: Adding an Extra "Lock" to Industrial Safety
In complex industrial environments, any accidental configuration change to a monitoring system can have serious consequences. The new VibroSmart® solution effectively addresses this pain point by introducing a module lockout feature.
This feature allows operators to flexibly lock the entire system, specific measurement modules, or individual measurement channels as needed. Once locked, it effectively prevents unauthorized configuration modifications, significantly reducing the likelihood of interference with the monitoring system itself and the monitored equipment (such as turbines, compressors, and pump sets). This design not only simplifies operational processes but, more importantly, makes it easier for enterprises to comply with international safety and critical infrastructure regulations in their safety management practices.
VSV301: High-Performance Data Acquisition and Processing Core
As the core of this system, the VSV301 monitoring module is an intelligent unit integrating data acquisition and advanced signal processing. It performs the entire signal processing workflow, from filtering and analog-to-digital conversion to time-domain and frequency-domain analysis.
Deep Data Analysis: The VSV301 generates processed data for physical output and display in VibroSight and VibroSight Scope software. This includes spectrum band extraction, advanced FFT analysis, trend prediction, and rigorous limit checks (covering alarms and sensor status).
Intelligent Logic Control: The module incorporates four basic logic functions and two advanced logic functions, intelligently combining local alarm and status information to directly drive module relays. These logic outputs can also serve as inputs to the VSI010 communication interface module within the same measurement module, enabling the construction of more complex control strategies.
VSV30x Series: Two Versions to Meet Different Application Scenarios
To adapt to diverse field installation needs, the VibroSmart VSV30x monitoring module offers two versions: VSV301 and VSV300. Both are identical in core functionality and share the same VSB300 terminal block. Their main difference lies in the characteristics of their dynamic buffered output:
VSV301: Ideal for Long-Distance Transmission
The VSV301's dynamic channel buffered output uses a 1:1 transmission ratio, preserving the full amplitude of the original signal. It is ideal when transmitting signals to monitoring or analysis equipment at long distances (up to 500 meters) (in this scenario, it can be used with the VSA301 buffered output amplifier).
VSV300: Signal Restoration with Amplifier
The VSV300's dynamic channel buffered output uses a 1:10 attenuation ratio. In this configuration, it must be used with the VSA301 buffered output amplifier to restore the attenuated signal to the original sensor signal amplitude. This design provides flexibility for specific signal conditioning needs. Aside from the aforementioned buffered output characteristics, measurement phase accuracy, and maximum operating temperature range, the VSV301 and VSV300 are completely identical in performance.
